"Full Bodied Apparition" is a 14 track album by The B.S. of D. recorded in 2012 that many consider a groundbreaking new exploration in music, and emotions. Much more than a concept album, each of the 14 tracks were written in conjunction with a chapter from a science fiction short story also written by The B.S. of D. Using different velocities on the frequencies of some tracks, Spectral Art has been added to the songs, showing illustrations from the story. These can not only be seen using a spectral analyzer, but in many cases, can also be heard as the changing velocities are revealed and concealed. A ghost story, a sci-fi thriller, and overall a tragic love story, it takes the concept of a concept album, and explodes the envelope into an epic tale of love, heartache, and trials the main character must endure.
"It's like Daft Punk in an insane asylum!" - Localgoth.com
Full Bodied Apparition has all the ups and downs, to and fros, rise and drops of electronic music, which are then seemlessly blended into what can only be described as a soundtrack of sorts. The B.S. of D. has spent much of his career in the Electronic Dance Music scene, booking, promoting, remixing, and DJ-ing among some of the most influential artists in the industry, such as: AK1200, DJ Irene, Donald Glaude, Cosmic Gate, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, and many more. A classically trained musician from a very young age, The B.S. of D. began producing his own electronic music in 1998. The B.S. Of D. has always enjoyed good books, and award winning films, so he felt it important to include a story that could easily be made into a short film as well.
"I've been trying to play this album in the background, but it keeps seeping into my mind, and having weird psychological effects. So many layers!" - Paul Zickler, Musician/Teacher
The album combines many genres and gives them the presence that can only truly be appreciated in an arena setting. Each layer of the songs really immerse the listener into the world of the "Full Bodied Apparition".
Technical Details:
"Full Bodied Apparition" was written, composed, engineered, performed, recorded, sequenced, produced, mixed, and mastered by The B.S. of D. himself. The B.S. of D. also was responsible for creating/designing his own website, the cover art, the videos, and the promotional material for the release. Each synthesized sound was custom engineered from initialized patches, and not a single sample pack, loop, or pre-engineered sound was used for the electronic elements, with the exception of classical instruments such as Violins, Piano, and Cellos.
In His own words:
"I set out to do this as a solo project, having learned absolutely everything in my crafts on my own. Music, art, and photography has always been the most loyal friends to me. And also the least rewarding. It becomes very hard in the saturated market to get your stuff heard, or seen. It became all I've wanted to ever do. When it got to the point where I felt I could hang with the big boys in my sound quality, I tried new things that I have never seen anyone do, and tried to make it something that even impressed myself (I'm really hard to impress). Also I figured, well if Trent Reznor can do a whole band by himself, why can't I? He's always been an inspiration to me creatively. All his fans know how fun it is to speculate on what his lyrics mean. I never will understand the lyrics, but that's part of what draws me to his music in the first place. I've never gotten good at writing poetry and prose, or even lyrics. Hard to match Trent's lyrical genious, thus hard to impress myself with any. Every time I try, people wonder what's wrong with me, or take it the wrong way. So I'll stick to making the instrumentals unless someone wants to write some lyrics for me on a new album?"
